The Sharks were handed their first loss of the season on Sunday with a 4-3 loss to the Bruins in Boston, but the youth movement in full effect is guiding what has been an impressive start to the season for San Jose.
Jasper Weatherby's first-period goal Sunday gave the Sharks five goals by rookies this season, the most of any NHL team (h/t Darin Stephens).

Weatherby's goal against the Bruins was his second of the season, and fellow rookie Jonathan Dahlen has notched a trio of goals through the first five games. Jonah Gadjovich, 23, had one NHL game under his belt with the Vancouver Canucks, and he got his first career point on the goal by Weatherby.
No. 7 overall draft pick William Eklund, who entered the season as the most anticipated first-year player, still has yet to connect on his first NHL goal. Eklund's three assists so far do give the Sharks a unique piece of franchise history, as he, Weatherby and Dahlen are the first trio with three or more points in their first five games.

Eklund was a healthy scratch for Sunday's contest, as the Sharks try to help the 19-year-old adjust to the hectic NHL travel schedule.

In the team's fifth game in eight days, the Sharks came out slow, with Boston pulling ahead 3-0 in the first period before.
However, San Jose showed some fight, battling back and cutting the lead to one with a pair of goals in a three-minute span.
After two consecutive seasons near the bottom of the Pacific Division standings, the Sharks have come out with a bang so far. Only the Edmonton Oilers (10) have more points in the Pacific than the Sharks.
Two gloomy seasons in San Jose have tempered expectations, but the future appears to bright with the early success of the Sharks' rookies.
At 4-1-0, the present isn't looking too shabby either.
