In returning to Golden State, Andre Iguodala is bringing a new mentoring style with him.
He described it as a "militaristic, kind of Navy seal approach" to The New York Times' Jonathan Abrams, and as reflective of the coaching style used by the Miami Heat.
Anything militaristic is a stark contrast to Steve Kerr's more flowing style of coaching, but with so many young pieces to develop, it could behoove the Warriors to try something new -- particularly since Jonathan Kuminga's rookie season will be all about development.

Sure, Kuminga's Summer League performance suggested he's not as raw as many thought heading into draft night, but there is immense room to grow. The No. 7 overall pick is well aware of that, and he's ready to put in the work -- just maybe not ready for Iguodala's workout regimen.
When he first heard of Iguodala's plans, Kuminga had a blank stare on his face. He cracked a brief smile and then started shaking his head, initially reluctant to embrace the idea of a military-style bootcamp. But quickly, he accepted it.
"If he's going to do it, he's going to do it for a reason. To prepare us," Kuminga said on the "Dubs Talk" podcast. "Because if you look ahead to the future, in the next five years those guys will be gone. So just for them to prepare us early on, I feel like we're going to be in a way good situation when it comes to us leading the team."
In addition to Iguodala, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are included in the "them" Kuminga referred to. To him, there's no one better to learn from than the slate of Hall of Fame-caliber players who are now his teammates.

"I feel like just being around them, it's one of the greatest things to ever happen to me," Kuminga said. "Because, it's like, they're going to help me, they're going to prepare me. They just got [Andre] Iguodala, so basically, that's four Hall of Fame[rs] that's going to be around me. I'm not going to be on a team that's going to lose every time. I'm going to be on a winning team. So that's going to prepare me. It's really exciting."
Kuminga already has an incredible ability to bully his way to the hoop and use his body to work around defenders in his path. His defense is solid, and he displayed decent passing abilities throughout Summer League. But, his shot needs a lot of work.

Guess it's a good thing two of the players he's looking forward to working with are two of the greatest shooters of all time.
"I'm really excited just being around those guys," Kuminga said. "Not just on the court, but off the court. I feel like I'm still going to grow a lot, I have a lot of room to grow in me."
