It was a reunion at the Oakland Coliseum this past weekend.
On their way to winning the Bay Bridge Series against the A's, the Giants faced off against an old friend named Sergio Romo.
Having played a big role out of the bullpen in each of San Francisco's three World Series titles in 2010, 2012 and 2014, Romo went up against some of his former teammates.

Since leaving the Giants after the 2016 season, Romo went on to play for both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays in 2017 and 2018, before moving on to the Miami Marlins and Minnesota Twins in 2019 and 2020.
Having faced the Giants last on May 29, 2019 as a member of the Marlins, Romo was excited to step out onto the mound against the likes of Buster Posey, Brandon Belt and Brandon Crawford over the weekend.
Excited, but admittedly a conflicted given the fact that he was now competing against them.
“Little torn," Romo told KNBR 680's "Murph & Mac" show. "More so for the fact that these are people that I care about. We were able to do some pretty amazing things playing alongside each other. It’s just surreal that I get to face these guys that at one point we were crying, sweating and bleeding together.”

When Posey stepped up to the plate against his former teammate Friday night, Romo couldn't help but get a little sentimental.
“One of my biggest moments in my career, Buster [Posey] was a part of that," Romo said. "(That moment doesn’t exist) without Buster.”
“It’s hard not to smile at a guy like that.”

Having faced Posey and Belt on Friday, and then Crawford in the ninth inning of Sunday's game, Romo enjoyed catching up with three guys who he (to this day) calls friends, and at one point, teammates.
“I’m just happy to see them," Romo said. "They’re just doing their thing. It’s hard not to think of the Baby Giraffe when [Brandon] Belt walks in the box. It’s hard not to go ‘man, his hair really is that nice’ when [Brandon] Crawford gets in the box.”
The sentiment only lasted a short while, as Romo had a job to do and that was to retire his former teammates in a crucial spot in the game.
“Torn but the other half is like, come on man, I'm trying to get them out,” Romo said.
