Bruce Bochy has been the Giants' manager for the past twelve seasons. Entering Wednesday, though, there are only five games left where he will hold that title.
Following Sunday's 2019 MLB regular-season finale, Bochy will be on his way to retirement and the Giants will be searching for his replacement. There reportedly already is one candidate to take over, too.
MLB Network's Jon Heyman reported Wednesday that Dodgers bench coach Bob Geren is "thought to be a managerial candidate for the Giants."

Giants president of operations Farhan Zaidi is very familiar with the 58-year-old Geren, too.

Zaidi was with the A's when Geren was Oakland's manager from 2007 until Geren was fired during the 2011 season. He compiled a 334-376 record as the A's manager and never made the playoffs. Geren joined the Dodgers' coaching staff in 2015 when Zaidi was the team's GM, and the former big-league catcher has been in L.A. ever since.

As the Giants countdown Bochy's final days as the team's manager, the big question will be finding the next person in charge. With his previous ties to Zaidi, Geren certainly makes sense as a candidate.
