Deshaun Watson has shown his past fandom of the 49ers. Just look at some of his old tweets, or even how he recently commented on a picture of him wearing a Joe Montana jersey.
It's clear the Houston Texans' star QB also is a fan of what the 49ers are doing in the present, even in a disappointing 6-10 season. ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio reported Saturday that Watson recommended the Texans to interview then-49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh for Houston's head-coaching vacancy.
Saleh on Thursday agreed to become the next head coach of the New York Jets. The Texans were the only team with a vacant head-coach opening to not interview Saleh.

Watson, 25, might have hit his tipping point with the Texans. He reportedly "just wants out" after an offseason of ineptitude, and years of poor roster management.
If Watson does become available for trade talks, the 49ers have to jump at the opportunity. Young star QBs like Watson don't come around too often. He completed 70.2 percent of his passes and threw for 4,823 yards and 33 touchdowns with just seven interceptions in 2020. The dual-threat quarterback still is a weapon with his legs, too.

There's no doubt trading for Watson would cost quite the price tag with multiple first-round draft picks. But he's worth nearly every package. Watson is a quarterback who could lead a talented 49ers team to the Super Bowl year in and year out.
