All signs point to Deebo Samuel’s 2020 season coming to an early end.
The 49ers' receiver was on the field for only one play in the team’s 23-15 loss to Washington on Sunday. Samuel took a handoff from Nick Mullens on the first play of the game, ran to the left for nine yards and instantly came up lame.
Samuel was seen on the broadcast tossing his helmet in frustration, knowing his hamstring was not right. The wideout remained on the sidelines with his team for the duration of the game, but wearing a baseball cap instead of his helmet.

After the game, Kyle Shanahan revealed that he is skeptical about the health of Samuel’s hamstring, hinting that the receiver likely will miss significant time.
“You could tell just talking to him, didn’t look good,” Shanahan said. “He’ll have an MRI, they’ll look at it tomorrow.”
Samuel missed three games earlier this season due to a lingering hamstring strain that he originally sustained in the team’s Week 7 win over the New England Patriots. He also missed the first three weeks of the season recovering from a Jones fracture that occurred during the offseason.
Shortly after the Sunday's game, Samuel posted and deleted a message on his Instagram Story that suggested his injury is severe.

Last season, Samuel led all 49ers wide receivers with 57 receptions for 802 yards and three touchdowns. He also carried the ball 14 times for 159 yards and three scores.
