The Giants placed closer Brian Wilson on the disabled list, and called up RHP Steve Edlefsen from Triple-A Fresno, the team announced Sunday morning.

Wilson hasn't pitched since Aug.15 when he blew a save against the Atlanta Braves, allowing three runs in the bottom of the 9th.
He is 35 for 40 in save opportunities this season, and is eligible to return Aug. 31.
Edlefsen was drafted by the Giants in the 16th round of the 2007 MLB Draft. In 2011, he is 2-4 with a 5.66 ERA in 32 appearances for Triple-A Fresno.
In 2010, he went 7-2 with a 2.38 ERA in 36 opportunities for the Grizzlies.
