Why De'Aaron Fox isn't bothered by Kings having one national TV game

The Kings are one of the most exciting, young teams in the NBA.

Last year, De'Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley led the Kings to a 39-43 record, keeping them in the playoff hunt until late in the regular season. While the Kings came up short of their playoff goal, the team still took a huge step toward returning to NBA relevancy.

With the Western Conference undergoing a talent shift in the offseason, many expected the Kings to get a fair amount of national TV love when the schedule came out. Those people were wrong.

The Kings only will have one nationally televised game, leaving those who wish to watch Fox, Bagley and Co. on a national network to find alternative means of viewing the up-and-coming royalty of Sacramento.

Fox reacted on Twitter once he saw the national TV schedule, but the Kentucky product isn't all that bothered by the snub.

"You know me, I always tweet because I know when controversy is going to happen," Fox said Tuesday at Team USA practice, via ABC10's Sean Cunnigham, "I do it on purpose. It is what it is. People are going to use League Pass to watch us play regardless. Last year a lot of guys were saying we were their late-night League Pass team to watch, so I think people are going to watch us regardless, so it's fine."

Almost every night is going to be must-watch in the Western Conference. The Kings are among a pack of teams hoping to make the leap into the playoffs, so it is curious that the Kings received only one game. But the Lakers, Clippers, Warriors, Rockets, Jazz and Zion Williamson-led Pelicans all need maximum exposure, so someone was getting left out.

But with a boatload of young talent and Luke Walton's up-tempo attack, the Kings should once again be a League Pass favorite.
