Jonathan Kuminga brings an element to the Warriors that general manager Bob Myers believes will be unique to the rotation.
Myers spoke to 95.7 The Game on Thursday, and discussed how impressed he has been by the No. 7 overall draft pick's strength through his first few Summer League performances.
"Simply playing through contact, it's like an NFL running back that can take one hit and doesn't go down. It's kind of like yards after the first hit," Myers said of Kuminga. "His might-be steps after the first bump or elevation after being hit in the air and maintaining that body control. Those are things you can't really teach, and he has them. So that's what's kind of exciting for us -- to have a guy who seeks contact."

"We've always been kind of a skill team. Even when we had Kevin, we didn't go through you. We kind of went around you with skill and intelligence and all that. This guy, he's kind of that physical wing that had dominated our NBA for so many years. The physical wing is the hardest thing to find, and he has a shot at being one of those guys."
Kuminga was listed at 6-foot-6 and 210 pounds on his G League Ignite official profile, but he clearly looks to have added some strength since he began preparing for the draft.

Through two Las Vegas Summer League games, Kuminga has averaged 17 points and five rebounds per game, while also blocking a shot per game.
Kuminga's strength was evident on this play against the Orlando Magic, in which the forward went right at eighth overall pick Franz Wagner and fought through the contact for a bucket.
Myers clearly is eager to see how Kuminga's brawn translates to live NBA action, and after his Summer League games so far, Warriors fans should be as well.
