NBA Twitter explodes over KD's reported trade request

Before the NBA’s free agency period could even begin on Thursday afternoon, the story of the offseason broke as Kevin Durant reportedly requested to be traded by the Brooklyn Nets.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported just before noon, citing sources, that Durant requested a trade out of Brooklyn just three days after his teammate Kyrie Irving decided to stay.

And of course, NBA Twitter reacted just as you'd expect -- fans, players and reporters alike.

Durant reportedly already has some teams on his mind as his preferred destination, but a return to the Warriors appears extremely unlikely.

And as free agency gets underway, this possible trade is sure to command much of the league's attention.
