The Warriors are known for their 3-point shot, and they backed up that reputation during the first half of Game 3 with a record performance.
Golden State tied its franchise record for most 3s made in a half of an NBA playoff game during Thursday’s opening-round matchup with the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena.
As a team, the Warriors were 12-of-21 shooting from behind the 3-point line across the game’s first two quarters.

They rode a 10-point lead into halftime thanks not only to some lethal 3s, but also while shooting a stunning 68 percent from the field.
Draymond Green was 1-of-2, Andrew Wiggins was 1-of-1, Klay Thompson was 2-of-4 and Steph Curry was 2-of-5 shooting from 3-point range. Jordan Poole and Gary Payton II led the way with three 3s apiece, with Payton sinking all three 3-point shots he took and Poole missing just one.
This is the fourth time the Warriors have made 12 3-pointers in a playoff half. They accomplished the feat twice in the 2016 playoffs and again in 2017 against the Portland Trail Blazers, also during the opening playoff round.
