That's exactly what Swedish club Skelleftea AIK tweeted Tuesday morning regarding the former Sharks forward. Karlsson, who was an unrestricted free agent, is signing with Skelleftea AIK for the remainder of the 2020-21 season.

Karlsson, 30, is a native of Sweden. He spent the last six seasons with the Sharks, where he scored 112 points.

Karlsson signed a one-year contract with the Sharks in 2014 after winning the Swedish Championship with Skelleftea AIK in 2013 and 2014. He clearly impressed the Sharks and stayed in San Jose for the past six years.

As a rookie, Karlsson scored 13 goals and had 11 assists in 53 games. But this past season, he scored just six goals and had six assists in 61 games.
Karlsson became an unrestricted free agent after his three-year, $6 million contract came to an end.
