Warriors' Curry sprains surgically-repaired ankle in Sacramento

Stephen Curry sprained his right ankle, the same ankle that was surgically repaired after last season, with less than a minute to play in the second half of the Warriors' final preseason game against the Kings.

He was helped directly to the locker room and looked to be in considerable pain; he did not put weight on the ankle and did not return to the game.

The Warriors announced that Curry has a sprained right ankle and will be re-evaluated on Wednesday.

After the game, Curry left the arena on crutches and did not speak with reporters.

Earlier in the game, Curry showed shades of midseason form when he found David Lee with a nifty behind-the-back pass in traffic.

Curry left the game with seven points, five assists, three steals and two rebounds in just over 15 minutes.

Curry played 80 games in his rookie season, but was limited to 74 games in his sophomore campaign due to his lingering ankle issues. He rolled it a number of times throughout the 2010-11 season.
