Warriors assign Alen Smailagic to G League ahead of game vs. Magic

Alen Smailagic will not be at Chase Center on Saturday night when the Warriors host the Orlando Magic.

Because the big man was assigned to the G League on Friday afternoon, the team announced.

Smailagic will suit up for the Santa Cruz Warriors instead as they host the Oklahoma City Blue.

The 19-year-old did not get off the bench during Golden State's overtime loss to the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night, and played 23 minutes combined over the Dubs' prior three games.

This will be Smailagic's first game with the Sea Dubs since Dec. 29. In 12 G League appearances this season, he is averaging 16.8 points and 6.1 rebounds, while shooting 51 percent overall and just under 38 percent from deep.
