Golden State Warriors
After winning the title in 2017, Durant agreed to a contract that paid him $25 million in 2017-18 when he could have made just under $34.7 million.
He did that to help the Warriors re-sign Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston.

After going back-to-back in 2018, Durant agreed to a contract that paid him $30 million in 2018-19 when he could have made $35.3 million.
He did that to give himself the flexibility to possibly leave the Warriors in the summer of 2019.
And that ended up coming to fruition.
