Why Yankees' Aaron Judge has signed, framed Buster Posey Giants jersey

Major League Baseball and Fanatics are teaming up to take part in the All In Challenge, which raises money for food aid charities during the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. While there were no Giants in the video put out by the league Friday morning, Buster Posey did make an appearance of sorts.

The video tweeted out by MLB kicked off with Yankees superstar Aaron Judge, and eagle-eyed watchers might have gotten a kick out of his background. Judge is standing in front of a signed and framed Buster Posey jersey:

Judge was born in Linden, a small town just east of Stockton, and grew up rooting for the Giants. He was a senior in high school just as Posey was breaking into the big leagues, and he went on to star at Fresno State before being taken No. 32 overall by the Yankees in the 2013 MLB Draft, seven picks after the Giants selected Christian Arroyo. A few years later, Judge told a New Jersey website that his favorite player growing up was actually Rich Aurilia.

"My dad's favorite number is 35, so as a kid I wore 35 and Rich Aurilia was the shortstop for my favorite team and wore 35," Judge said. "I liked watching him ... I copied his stance when I was in Little League. I was the tallest kid and I was crouched down like Aurilia. It was funny."

So, it makes a lot of sense that Judge would have Giants jerseys hanging in his home (and perhaps it's something to keep in mind if he ever hits free agency). Judge was offering one of the cooler auction items. He's donating four tickets to the Legends Suite Club at Yankee Stadium and field passes for BP.

"However, that's just the beginning," Judge said in the video. "After the game, you and your friends will go to dinner with me at one of my favorite restaurants in New York City."
