Twitter reacts to Giants' thrilling Opening Day walk-off win

Giants fans let out a collective groan when Mauricio Dubon was doubled off second base to start the bottom of the 10th inning on Friday.

But moments later, those same fans were overcome with joy after Austin Slater delivered a walk-off double to give the Giants a 6-5 win over the Miami Marlins on Opening Day at Oracle Park.

Darin Ruf, who walked in front of Slater, scored all the way from first base, sending the Giants and the crowd at Oracle Park into a frenzy.

Giants Twitter also couldn't contain its excitement.

The Giants blew a 4-2 lead in the top of the ninth inning, only to have Thairo Estrada hit a game-tying homer in the bottom half of the inning to force extra innings.

It could have been an Opening Day to forget for the Giants, but it will actually be one of the more memorable season openers for Estrada, Slater and Ruf.

Not a bad way to start the 2022 season for the defending NL West champs.
