The Oakland A's held a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish foundation during Monday's game against the Texas Rangers, and gave some young fans the chance to meet the green and gold on the field pregame. Khris Davis took it a step further.
The Oakland slugger asked for the autograph of one young fan, who obliged and gave Davis his John Hancock.

"I just wanted to put a smile on his face, and maybe it would mean something if I had my jersey signed by him," Davis told reporters in the locker room after the game. "Just to know what that feels like to be in my shoes, even for a split second. [I'm] just kind of out of words, just at a loss for words really."
Davis took it another step further in the third inning. With Anthony Slocumb's signature on his back, Khris Davis turned to his own signature, and hit a massive, 438-foot home run to right center and gave the A's a 4-0 lead.
"I thought about him around the bases," Davis said. "There's not a better feeling than hitting a home run, and if he got some excitement and joy from watching that ... I hope he saw it."
It was Davis' 37th home run of the season, and his eighth of the year against Texas. The 30-year-old has now hit 26 of his 182 career home runs against the Rangers, more than any other team.
