The Sharks recalled goaltender Antero Niittymaki from his conditioning assignment with the Worcester Sharks Friday, the team announced in a press release.
After offseason hip surgery, Niittymaki was activated on Dec. 12 and sent to Worcester to get in shape.
After winning his AHL debut, the seven-year NHL veteran posted a 1-2 record with a 3.38 goals-against average and a .878 save percentage in the three games.

His return puts the Sharks front office in a difficult position, as they now carry three healthy goalies -- Antti Niemi, Thomas Greiss and Niittymaki.
Niittymaki, 31, played 24 games for the Sharks last season, posting a 12-7-3 record, 2.72 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage.
