That was fast.
A day after Sharks prospect Henry Thrun’s Harvard side was eliminated in the NCAA men’s hockey tournament, ending the Crimson’s season, the senior captain has signed a two-year NHL entry-level contract with the San Jose.
The Sharks announced that the 6-foot-2 defenseman will join the team’s roster immediately. Bay Area News Group’s Curtis Pashelka reported on Saturday, citing sources, that the 22-year-old has a base average annual value contract of $912,500 and $225,000 in performance bonuses.
Thrun’s addition is a part of much upheaval in the Sharks’ blueline this past week. Radim Šimek and Jacob MacDonald have both returned from week-to-week injuries, and Derrick Pouliot and Nikolai Knyzhov have been sent back to the Barracuda.
