SAN JOSEIts been exactly one month since Marty Havlats line change gone wrong, when, on Dec. 17 vs. Edmonton, he suffered a partially torn left hamstring hopping over the boards.
Havlat had surgery on Dec. 21 and was immobile for the next two and a half weeks while wearing a brace, but was spotted on crutches in the Sharks locker room at HP Pavilion on Tuesday morning.
Im not in tonight, Havlat joked.

Im coming in every day to the dressing room like everybody else, Havlat said. Im just trying to get better and healthier, and working on the problem point.
Its great to see the boys. Its a boring time for me right now, and every time youre hurt. Its not a fun time, and thats the way it is. I just have to keep working hard and trying to get better.

It takes six-to-eight weeks to recover from Havlats type of injury, and although he is on schedule, he does not have a set return date.
Havlats absence has led to speculation that the Sharks are seeking another winger via the trade market. Ryane Clowe, who was checked from behind on Jan. 10 and is out on Tuesday despite playing in the previous three games, leaves the Sharks down two of their top six forwards from the start of the season.
