The NBA has indefinitely suspended its season, but the NHL won't go that far -- yet.

The league announced Wednesday night that it was aware of the NBA's decision to suspend its season after a player positively tested for coronavirus, but stopped short of doing the same.

"The NHL is continuing to consult with medical experts and is evaluating the options," the league said in a statement.

The NHL is expected to provide a further update Thursday.
