Editor's note: Like you, Bay Area athletes and NBC Sports Bay Area insiders, reporters and analysts are feeling the sports void during the coronavirus stoppage. They'll share their thoughts twice a week in "What I Miss About Sports." Next up in the series: Voice of the 49ers Greg Papa.
Sports is the great unifier! Sports brings everyone together. Sports has no race, no religion, no creed, no religion, no sex and no bias.
What I miss the most about sports is the way it pulls people from all categories together in a mass, organic celebration. Nothing else brings people from all tax brackets, all colors, all ages and all sexual orientations together like the joyous celebration of a sporting moment. People that ordinarily would never interact are hugging, fist-pounding and dancing as one.

For the time being, sports cannot exist. Isolation is required, but the day will come when human beings will unite again, and the great unifier will lead the celebration!!
