Jason Townsend, a software engineer living in San Jose, was minding his business Sunday when a mistake from ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith blew up his Twitter mentions.
In the first half of Super Bowl LV in Tampa, Fla., Kansas City Chiefs punter Tommy Townsend shanked a punt, giving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers good field position.
Stephen A. was out-of-his-mind angry about the shank, so he fired off a tweet aimed at the Chiefs punter.

Instead of tagging @tommy_townsend, though, Stephen A simply tagged @Townsend.
Jason Townsend had fun with Stephen A's tweet, and responded with a good-natured tweet about his lack of football experience.
While Tommy Townsend might not want to talk about Super Bowl LV if the Chiefs can't come back to beat the Bucs, Jason Townsend surely will never forget what happened to him Sunday. He'll have a great story to tell his co-workers Monday.
