49ers sign former Sacramento State, Raiders receiver

The 49ers on Friday announced the signing of undrafted wide receiver DeAndre Carter to a two-year contract.

Carter (5 foot 8, 190 pounds) set the Sacramento State single-season receiving record in 2014 with 99 receptions for 1,321 yards and 17 touchdowns while earning FCS first-team All-America honors.

Carter originally signed with the Baltimore Ravens after the 2015 draft. He spent time on the practice squads of the Raiders and New England Patriots as a rookie after the Ravens released him in late-August.

Last summer, Carter caught four passes for 26 yards in the exhibition season with the Patriots, including a 12-yard touchdown from Jacoby Brissett against Carolina. He was among the Patriots' final cuts before the start of the regular season.
