Golden State Warriors forward Dorell Wright has been selected to compete in the 2011 Foot Locker Three-Point Contest, to take place at NBA All-Star Saturday Night in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 19, the NBA announced today.
Wright, 25, currently leads the NBA in three-point field goals made this season, having connected on 124 of 303 attempts (.409 3FG) from long range. He has made at least six three-pointers in a game four times this season, including a franchise record and NBA season-high nine three-pointers (on 12 attempts) at Minnesota on November 27.

Overall for the season, Wright is averaging 16.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.42 steals in 39.4 minutes per contest, all of which are career-highs for the seven-year NBA veteran. Signed by Golden State as a free agent on July 12, 2010, Wright has increased his scoring average by 9.5 points per game this season (up from 7.1 ppg in 2009-10), which marks the highest increase by any player in the NBA who has appeared in at least 30 games.

This season alone, he has connected on more three-point fields goals (124) than he had amassed in the previous six campaigns of his NBA career combined (73). Additionally, he has scored 20-or-more points 15 times with the Warriors after recording just three 20-plus games during the first six seasons of his career.
