Bills sign LB Kirk Morrison to one-year deal

ORCHARD PARK(APCSN)-- The Buffalo Bills have agreed to a one-year contract with free-agent linebacker Kirk Morrison, the player's agent has told The Associated Press.

There was speculation that the Raiders would pursue bringing Morrison back to Oakland after Travis Goethel's knee injury ended his season.

The deal was agreed to verbally on Wednesday, Morrison's agent, Bruce Tollner, says. Morrison is a six-year NFL veteran who spent last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who elected not to re-sign him this offseason.The Bills have a policy of not announcing acquisitions until the player has been signed.

Morrison has been a full-time starter since 2005, when he was drafted in the third round by Oakland. He spent five seasons with the Raiders.He had no sacks or interceptions in his one season with the Jaguars last year. Overall, Morrison has five sacks and seven interceptions in 96 career games.
