Imagine going from June 13, 2019 to Jan. 9, 2022 not being able to do the thing you love to do the most.

The last two and a half years have been tough and emotional for Thompson. But they have made him stronger. And they allowed the world to see a different side of him.

Thompson's long journey back to playing in an NBA game ends Sunday when he makes his long-awaited return against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Chase Center. It will go down as one of the most emotional days in Bay Area sports history.

Welcome back, Klay.
