SAN FRANCISCO -- Before the season, the Warriors hoped to defy expectations in a transitional year. Now, they're hoping to just get an elusive win.
Riding a nine-game losing streak, Golden State will welcome the Denver Nuggets to Chase Center for the first time in the first matchup of the season between the two teams.
Pregame coverage on NBC Sports Bay Area begins at 2:00, with tipoff scheduled for 3:10.
While the Nuggets will be without three key pieces, star big man Nikola Jokic has put up MVP-caliber numbers as Denver enters the matchup winning five of their last six games.

INJURY REPORT
Warriors: Stephen Curry (left-hand fracture), Kevon Looney (left abdominal soreness), Klay Thompson (left ACL rehabilitation), Ky Bowman (NBA two-way), Jacob Evans (broken nose/concussion), Kevon Looney (Left Abdominal Soreness) are out.
Nuggets: Bol Bol (left foot injury management), Paul Milsap (left knee contusion/sprain), Gary Harris (right adductor strain), Jamal Murray (ankle sprain) are out.
ROTATION OUTLOOK
Warriors: Former two-way guard Damion Lee is expected to start after signing a multi-year deal with the team Wednesday. Marquese Chriss will also suit up after signing a two-way deal after a brief sabbatical after getting waived last week.
Omari Spellman is averaging 13.7 points over his last seven games, while Alec Burks is scoring nearly 16 points per game in his last six appearances. D'Angelo Russell struggled in his second game back from injury, making just 5 of 17 from the field in Tuesday's loss to Dallas. With Jordan Poole's recent scoring stretch, two-way guard Ky Bowman will remain in the G-League for the time being.
Nuggets: Nikola Jokic averaged 29.8 points, 10.3 rebounds while shooting 59.2 percent from the field, including 56.5 percent from 3-point range last week. Over the stretch, the Nuggets won three of four games. The Nuggets are among the most clutch teams in the league, posting a 7-4 record in games decided by four points or less.
Rookie guard Michael Porter Jr. has shown signs of growth. In Wednesday's win, he finished with 19 points, adding eight rebounds in 27 minutes. Porter has six games of 10 or more points this season.
Under coach Mike Malone, Denver once again has a top-15 defense, holding opponents to just 32.6 percent from beyond the arc, allowing a third-best 104.9 points per game.
