
Warriors assistant coach Michael Malone, considered to be a top candidate for an NBA head coaching position this offseason, has been eliminated from the search in Portland.
According to The Oregonian newspaper, the list of four finalists for the head coaching position with the Trail Blazers has been narrowed to Terry Stotts, Elston Turner, Steve Clifford and Kaleb Canales.
According to the story, the four candidates will interview in Portland next week.

Malone, the top assistant to Golden State head coach Mark Jackson, has also been mentioned as a candidate in Orlando and Charlotte. Before joining the Warriors in 2011, Malone was an assistant for New Orleans in 2010-11 and before that the lead assistant in Cleveland under Mike Brown.
Malone is the son of Brendan Malone, a former NBA coach.
