What they’re saying: Wishing Javier Lopez luck after baseball

After 14 MLB seasons and four World Series titles -- three with the Giants -- left-handed reliever Javier Lopez retired this week. The news sent plenty to social media to wish the former Giant well in the future.

Lopez, 39, spent seven seasons with the Giants, going 17-8 with a 2.47 ERA and 10 saves. Over his career, he held left-handed batters to a .202 batting average.

Congrats to my buddy Javier Lopez on an outstanding baseball career. As kids we all dream of one day playing in a WS and winning one. Javy did that 4 times! Pretty incredible. But most importantly, Javy is a great person and teammate, and his presence will be missed. Lucky to call him a friend.
