Nate Schierholtz will always be remembered in San Francisco as a member of the 2010
Giants World Series champion team. In the immediate aftermath of his trade to the Philadelphia Phillies, Schierholtz issued a statement -- through Amy Gutierrez -- to the Giants fans and organization:
"Today is a very emotional day for me. I have had so many great memories here. I feel very fortunate to have played for the Giants organization and in front of such supportive fans. It was a dream come true to win a world series for my home town. Thank you so much for all the support over the years."
