Posey, out since July 4 with a thumb injury, hit that homer 371 feet to left field.
Not to be outdone, Wilmer Flores went back-to-back with Posey, hitting a 423-foot solo homer to give the Giants a 3-0 lead.
In the bottom of the first inning, Max Muncy and Justin Turner hit back-to-back homers off Giants starter Kevin Gausman. Per Giants PR, this is the first time in the history of the rivalry that both teams have gone back-to-back in the first inning of a game.
Posey rejoined the Giants' lineup at the perfect time. The offense went cold during the final two games in St. Louis over the weekend, scoring a total of two runs in two losses on Saturday and Sunday. With one swing of the bat, Posey equaled that total.
