The Giants could soon have an open spot on their 40-man roster.
ESPN's KBO (Korean Baseball Organization) expert Daniel Kim reported Tuesday night, citing a source, that Giants left-hander Andrew Suarez is close to signing a one-year contract with the LG Twins of the KBO. Suarez is not a free agent, meaning the Giants and LG Twins would have to agree to a buyout, and Suarez would then be taken off San Francisco's 40-man roster.

The Athletic's Andrew Baggarly tweeted he heard a few weeks ago that KBO teams were interested in Suarez.
Suarez, 28, appeared in six games last season with the Giants. He went 0-0 with a 3.72 ERA over 9 2/3 innings. The lefty struck out just five batters and walked six.

The Giants drafted Suarez in the second round of the 2015 MLB Draft. He made his Giants debut in 2018 and went 7-13 with a 4.49 ERA over 28 starts. Since then, however, he primarily has been a reliever while also making two starts in 2019. Suarez has a 7-15 career record and 4.66 over three big league seasons.
Suarez might be on the outside looking in at this point of his career with the Giants. A change of scenery, or country for this matter, might be exactly what he needs right now.
