
Boston is pursuing free agent and former Giant Carlos Beltran, according to a report out of the GM Meetings in Milwaukee.
Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman reported on Twitter Tuesday that the All-Star free-agent could get a two-year deal with the Red Sox.
In 142 games last season, Beltran hit .300.385.525 with 22 home runs and 84 RBI.

Tuesday, Beltran's agent Dan Lozano suggested there was a market for the outfielder, who was acquired by the Giants just before the trade deadline for top pitching prospect Zack Wheeler.
"I think the quality for any middle-of-the-lineup player is going to be good," Boras told reporters. "It's going to very good. There's just not a lot of guys that can perform like that.''
Beltran's name has been discussed by members of the Red Sox front office, a baseball source told ESPNBoston.com.
