One thing is for certain: The A's will play in the AL Wild Card Game against the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday.
The next item on the agenda pertains to where that journey will begin.
It'll either start in Tampa Bay or at the Oakland Coliseum. If the A's can walk away from Saturday night's game against the Mariners with a win, they will snag home-field advantage. And it might sound like a broken record, but that would mean a lot for any team.

Following the Rays' 4-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday, Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash discussed what he and the team have to look forward to both geographically and talent-wise when they go up against the A's.
"Look, Oakland's a challenging place to play," Cash said to reporters. "That team makes it much more challenging, but we have done well enough on the road to feel good about going into any ballpark and performing well."
The Rays fare slightly better on the road than when they're playing at The Trop. Also, they're 3-4 overall against Oakland overall this season.
Cash mentioned that, over the last few years, the Rays have been able to handle the A's, but in 2019, they lost some of those games to the Green and Gold due to late-inning blown leads.

Cash also recently told MLB Network Radio that Charlie Morton would be the Rays' starter for the AL Wild Card Game.
The A's have yet to announce their starter, but the worry attached to playing at the Coliseum appears to be surrounding the Rays.
