The A's won't play again until Friday at the earliest.
Oakland announced Tuesday that its entire three-game series with the Seattle Mariners "has been postponed out of an abundance of caution," in order to allow for continued coronavirus (COVID-19) testing and contact tracing after an unidentified member of the organization tested positive over the weekend.
The AL West rivals will make up two of the games during a seven-inning doubleheader in Seattle on Sept. 14 -- when the A's and Mariners have an overlapping off day -- and the third in another doubleheader on Sept. 26 at the Coliseum during the regular season's final weekend.

The rescheduled games set up a stretch of six games in four days during the A's already condensed schedule. Oakland will play a road doubleheader against the Texas Rangers on Sept. 13, two games in Seattle on Sept. 14 and open a two-game series with the Colorado Rockies in Denver on Sept. 15. Oakland has a scheduled off day on Sept. 17 before a weekend series against the Giants at Oracle Park.
Everyone on the team tested negative for the coronavirus for the second straight day Tuesday, USA Today's Bob Nightengale reported Wednesday morning. Nightengale added that Oakland was given the green light to play Thursday, and the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser was the first to report that the A's wouldn't play again until Friday at the earliest.

The A's scheduled games Tuesday and Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners were initially postponed after an unidentified member of the organization tested positive for the coronavirus. Oakland learned of the positive test late Saturday night, according to general manager David Forst, and Sunday's series finale against the Houston Astros was postponed as a result.

Thursday was supposed to be the A's series finale against the Mariners, with the team scheduled to return to the Oakland Coliseum on Friday for a three-game set against the San Diego Padres. Oakland next hosts Houston in a four-game series beginning Sept. 7, and it's also possible the A's and Astros make up Sunday's game in a doubleheader next week at the Coliseum.
