Giants' coach Alguacil posts gruesome photo: ‘Recovering slowly'

Jose Alguacil is on the road to recovery.

Struck by a foul ball during Saturday's Cactus League game in Arizona, the Giants first base coach shared a post-surgery photo of the damage done.

"Thank you to everyone, family, friends, Giants nation, I am recovering slowly I will be back soon, God Bless everyone," Alguacil wrote on Twitter on Monday.

Following surgery on Saturday night to fix a broken nose and close a laceration, the Giants expect Alguacil to miss two weeks. He also suffered small fractures in his eye socket.

“He looks like he went 15 rounds with Muhammad Ali. But other than that, he’s in good spirits,” manager Bruce Bochy told reporters on Sunday in Arizona.
