The A's recalled the power hitting prospect on Sunday.
Starting pitcher Daniel Mengden was optioned to Triple-A Nashville to make room for Olson.

In 31 games with Nashville between May and June, Olson hit 11 home runs and drove in 30 runs. Overall, in 47 games, Olson has 14 home runs and 37 RBI at Triple-A this season.
This is Olson's second stint with the A's. He appeared in one game in late April and went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.
Mengden began the season on the disabled list and was activated on May 29. But in two starts, he allowed 13 hits and nine earned runs in eight innings.
