Imagine fracturing your ribs. Now imagine fracturing 11. That's where New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is right now.
Brees told ESPN's Ed Warder that doctors have found eight fractured ribs on his left side and three on his right. The Saints QB believes the fractures on the left side occurred in Week 9 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the three on his right side came the next week against the 49ers on Kentavius Street's controversial roughing-the-passer penalty.
The future Hall of Fame quarterback was knocked out of the Saints' win over the 49ers and was placed on injured reserve on Friday. Sean Payton chose to start Taysom Hill over Jameis Winston in a somewhat controversial move. It panned out, though, as Hill threw for 233 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns in the Saints' 24-9 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Street was not fined for his hit on Brees, further proving it probably shouldn't have been a penalty in the first place. Referee Brad Rogers said Street landed with his body weight on Brees, but replays showed Street turned his body to avoid a full-force fall on Brees.
The hit on Brees would have been Street's first sack as a pro. Instead, the former fourth-round draft pick still is waiting to check that box off his to-do list.
