Curry practicing for a second straight day

ALAMEDA -- Aaron Curry was practicing for the second straight day Thursday after sore knees had kept him out since May and on the PUP list since the start of the season. The linebacker's presence can only be interpreted as a positive sign for his potential return, though the Raiders are on Day 2 of a 21-day evaluation window in which the team must decide whether to activate him, place him on IR or release him. Also, running back Taiwan Jones, who was "limited" in Wednesday's practice with a knee issue, was an observer during the media window of practice. And there was no sign again of right tackle Khalif Barnes (groin), tight end Richard Gordon (hamstring) or cornerback Shawntae Spencer (right foot).
