Source: Terry earns summer contract, camp invite with Kings

Emanuel Terry made an impression with his play at both the California Classic and Las Vegas Summer League. He played so well that the Kings want a longer look.

A league source confirmed to NBC Sports California that the 6-foot-9 power forward is set to sign an Exhibit 10 contract with the Kings and has been invited to training camp. The Kings have also taken the additional step of acquiring Terry's G League rights from the Agua Caliente, which means that they are hoping he sticks in the program for more than just camp.

In five games with the Kings' Las Vegas Summer League squad, the 25-year-old posted 7.2 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 17.4 minutes per game.

Undrafted out of Lincoln Memorial University in 2018, Terry has worked hard to carve a niche in the league. He's had short stops with both the Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat, playing a total of three games at the NBA level.

In 54 career games at the G League level, Terry has averaged 10.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. He's also traveled to play professionally in Turkey, Israel and the Adriatic league.

Sacramento already has a full roster of 15 players, plus two two-way players in Louis King and Neemias Queta. Terry will battle to try to unseat a guaranteed roster player during camp, but he also has the option of joining the Stockton Kings if he doesn't make the opening day roster.

Terry showed enough during summer league to deserve a shot during camp. If nothing else, he's a nice player to have at the G League level for organizational depth.
