Draymond channels iconic quote from NFL coach after Game 1 loss

The Warriors aren't exactly surprised by what the Boston Celtics showed on Thursday night.

In Golden State's 120-108 loss to the Boston in Game 1 of the NBA Finals at Chase Center, the Celtics played exactly how they have been playing throughout the playoffs and even throughout the second half of the regular season.

After the game, Warriors forward Draymond Green channeled an iconic quote from former Arizona Cardinals head coach Dennis Green after a loss to the Chicago Bears in 2006.

"Yeah, no surprises," Green told reporters after the game. "They are who we thought they were and now we'll watch the clips and watch the film and figure out what we need to do to attack."

The postgame quote from the Cardinals coach is one of the most iconic lines in all of sports and still is referenced in sports today.

"The Bears are who we thought they were! That's why we took the damn field!"

"Now, if you want to crown them," Green yelled while slamming his fist on the podium. "Then crown their ass! But they are who we thought they were! And we let them off the hook!"

Draymond conveyed the same message with the polar opposite approach as the emphatic coach Green.

The Celtics are exactly who the Warriors thought they were, and Golden State will need to make an adjustment before Game 2 on Sunday.
