Did Iguodala have a more lucrative offer? Bob Myers: ‘I fell for it'

Andre Iguodala has not signed his new contract yet.

But he will return to the Warriors on a three-year, $48 million fully guaranteed deal.

For you math nerds -- that's $16 million annually.

"I think Andre might have had something more lucrative," Bob Myers told the media on Friday afternoon. "He told me he did (laughing). I fell for it."

Iguodala held free-agent meetings with the Spurs, Rockets and Kings.

"Andre took less the first time he came here," Myers said. "He flat out did. And Andre's helped us win two championships. It's ironic that Andre was one that went to the Hamptons last year to recruit Kevin Durant, a player that plays his position.

"And knowing that had Kevin had not taken less, Andre might not be here. So this is how all this is connected. And what makes our organization special."

Iguodala's first contract with the Warriors was $48 million over four years.

The Warriors' inital offer this time around was reportedly two guaranteed years between $12 and $14 million annually, with a partial guarantee in Year 3.

Iguodala ended up getting much more than that.

"Andre is a very smart guy," Myers admitted.
