But the "Steph vs. Dame" conversation became ubiquitous across the basketball world once the Portland Trail Blazers star guard began putting up monster numbers in the seeding games.
Lillard hosted a Twitter Q&A on Thursday night, and felt compelled to answer a question on the topic.

That response is like the Oakland native pulling up from 35 feet with the Blazers down two points, and drilling a game-winner at the buzzer.
He nailed it.
Curry and Lillard love competing in head-to-head matchups, and it's fair to assume they use the other as motivation. The old saying "iron sharpens iron" is applicable here for sure.

And while they hear all the noise, they share a mutual respect -- both on and off the court.
Needless to say, the Warriors-Blazers matchups next season will be appointment television.
