SAN FRANCISCO -- On Friday night, the Giants found the best way yet to use their $10 million scoreboard.
Instead of their usual portraits, players on Friday night used drawings from children who have faced a cancer diagnosis. The child artists were from Kids & Art, Family House, Camp Okizu and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital.

Friday was "Fight Against Childhood Cancer Day" at Oracle Park and yellow wristbands and ribbons were available in the clubhouse. Many of the Giants wore the wristbands out onto the field.

The drawings got good reactions from fans at Oracle Park, and they certainly seemed to bring some good luck to a Giants team that has lost seven straight games. With one out in the first, five straight Giants reached base, with Mike Yastrzemski, Joc Pederson and Evan Longoria hitting doubles. The Giants took a 4-0 lead on the Philadelphia Phillies into the second inning.
