While the Giants haven't been heavy spenders for another bat this offseaon, it appears a familiar face is headed back to the franchise.
San Francisco reportedly signed first baseman Michael Morse to a minor-league deal, according to Matt Eddy of Baseball America. The team also reportedly officially signed infielder Jimmy Rollins and also outfielder Justin Ruggiano, both to minor-league deals as well.
Morse spent one season of his 12-year career with the Giants, making his presence felt in 2014. In 131 games played, Morse hit .279/.336/.475 with 16 home runs.

Before the Giants went on to win the World Series in 2014, Morse helped propel them to the Fall Classic for his heroics in Game 5 of the NLCS against the Cardinals. Down 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning, Morse came off the bench as a pinch-hitter and hit a high blast off Pat Neshek, tying the game up a three runs apiece before Travis Ishikawa's game-winner in the ninth.
Over his 12-year career, Morse is a .276/.332/.460 hitter with 104 home runs.
