The Athletics finally have entered the free agency chat.
Oakland reportedly has agreed to a two-year contract with utility man Jace Peterson, FanSided’s Robert Murray reported Tuesday morning, citing sources.
The reported deal will become official when Peterson passes a physical.

Peterson appeared in 113 games for the Milwaukee Brewers last season at nearly every position around the diamond, including third base, right field, first base, left field and second base, primarily playing third.
The lefty hit .236 in 328 plate appearances while adding a .316 on-base percentage, eight home runs and 12 stolen bases.

It’s expected Peterson will remain where he’s most comfortable at third with Oakland, but there’s no doubt he’ll bounce around where needed and provide some flexibility around the field that the A’s have been wanting.
"On base Jace" became a phenom in Milwaukee and will look to form a new identity in Oakland.
