The NL wild-card race is heating up, so it's only fitting the Giants find themselves in the desert.
After taking the first game of a four-game set against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday, the Giants will hand the ball to Jeff Samardzija on Friday.
Bruce Bochy's club currently sits just 3 1/2 games out of the second wild-card spot, but they have three teams in front of them, so there is work to do.

The Giants will trot out a much different lineup than Thursday's 7-0 win. Mike Yastrzemski will lead off and play right, with Buster Posey batting second and doing the catching for Samardzija.
Here are the lineups for Friday night's duel in the desert. You can follow the action on NBC Bay Area or by downloading and streaming on the MyTeams app.
