
The Sharks selected winger Ozzy Wiesblatt with the No. 31 overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NHL Draft on Tuesday night.
Wiesblatt, 18, scored 70 points (25 goals, 45 assists) in 64 games for the WHL's Prince Albert Raiders.
Listed at 5-foot-10 and 183 pounds, Wiesblatt was ranked as the No. 19 North American skating prospect by NHL.com and the No. 31 prospect overall by EliteProspects.com. He is said to play bigger than his size, while possessing good speed and advanced vision.

Wiesblatt comes from a large hockey family, as his three brothers -- Ocean, Orca and Oasiz -- all played high-level juniors in 2019-20. Their mother, Kim White, was born deaf and communicates with her five children using sign language.

In a heartwarming moment, Sharks director of scouting Doug Wilson Jr. signed Wiesblatt's name to announce the team's selection.
The Sharks have six more selections in the 2020 NHL Draft, including the 34th and 55th overall picks in the second round, which takes place Wednesday.
